Hi Steve,
Just wanted to drop you a note. I enjoyed meeting you at SPX. (I'm the short fella with the dark hair and goatee from New York.)
I purchased two copies of your book, one for me and one for my buddy Alan. I'm reading my copy now and ejoying it immensely. I like the feel of it in book form more than on the Web (ink on page as opposed to pixels on screen and all that...). But that doesn't mean I haven't already bookmarked your site and won't come back thrice weekly.
I'm going to give Alan his copy when I see him, probably this weekend. Maybe reading and enjoying your strips will indeed, "get him off his butt," as I had you write in his copy, and he will finally produce his own strip.
You take care, I'll keep reading and if you come up to NYC, let me know, I'll buy you a beer.
Best,
John McCarthy
Hey John;
I'm glad you liked the book; I really like the feel of ink myself -- although I'm trying to make the web experience as pleasurable as possible. Hopefully the book, which collects around 30 weeks of the strip, will come out once or twice a year. I'm shooting for it hard!
I hope your friend Alan does "get off his butt". We need more good cartoonists in the world, and the only way to get there is to start with the first one.
And when I'm in NYC next, I'll take you up on that beer!
Ted
